Wrestling Looks For First Ivy League Win, Heads To New York Athletic Club

The Princeton wrestling team will compete for its third dual win of the season, as well as its first in Ivy League competition, when it heads to the New York Athletic Club Friday night for a 7 pm showdown with the Columbia Lions.

Princeton had won two straight matches prior to last Saturday, when it fell at home to both Brown and Harvard. The day did have its memorable moments, as both senior Zach Bintliff and junior Ryan Callahan went 2-0 on the day.

Bintliff shares the team lead with 18 victories now, and he can earn the biggest win of his senior season against Columbia's Steve Santos, who is ranked sixth nationally and has an impressive 18-2 record. Callahan, who moved to double-digits in the win column, will take on Columbia veteran Stephen West, who also has 18 wins on the season.

Princeton has four freshmen in the starting lineup, including Scott Gibbons, who shares the team lead in wins with Bintliff. He is scheduled to take on Columbia junior Drew Rebling, who has split his last three matches. A potential all-freshman matchup could occur at 141, where Princeton's Kevin Moylan is likely to take on Alec Mooradian. Moylan has a 12-6 record this season, and he earned a decision over Brown last weekend.

Columbia has one more ranked competitor, as Jake O'Hara is 18th in the latest InterMat rankings. O'Hara could face Princeton sophomore Brandon Rolnick, who is attempting to return to form after an injury-riddled career.
