COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Princeton fencing teams stand in second place at the NCAA championships with one day left at the Ohio State-hosted event.

The host Buckeyes lead the 25-team field with 149 wins ahead of Princeton's 135. Each team will have 54 points available Sunday, including all 12 head-to-head bouts between Princeton and Ohio State fencers.

Through Saturday's first day of men's competition, Princeton's top performer was senior Alexander Mills, who at this point would have the No. 2 seed behind Notre Dame's Enzo Castellani in the four-man direct-elimination bracket that decides medal winners. In their head-to-head bout Saturday, Castellani beat Mills 5-2, but medal bouts are continue to 15 instead of five as in the pool round.

Mills is on track to become Princeton's first foilist to be a four-time All-America, as he would with a top-12 finish, and just the fourth Tiger fencer across any weapon in the men's program to do so.

Along with Mills' 12-2 Saturday, foilist teammate Marcus Howard went 3-11 to stand 22nd, while saberists Philip Dershwitz went 8-6 and Robert Stone went 5-9. Epeeist Jonathan Yegler went 10-4 and teammate Edward Kelley went 9-5 in the same weapon.

Competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday with medal bouts set to begin at 1:45 p.m. on ESPN3.com.
