Eliza Stone '13 was one of four saber fencers on the U.S. team to help the squad win silver at the Korfanty World Cup over the weekend in Stone's hometown of Chicago.

Stone teamed with Dagmara Wozniak, Mariel Zagunis and Ibtihaj Muhammad to finish second of 19 countries across four continents.

As the No. 3 seed, the U.S. defeated Hong Kong 45-30 in the Round of 16 before knocking off Germany 45-28 in the quarterfinals. Second-seeded Ukraine was up next in the semis, and the Americans won that round 45-43. Russia, the No. 1 seed, was the Americans' opponent in the final, and Russia defended that seed with a 45-38 win.

Stone was the NCAA saber champion in her senior year while helping the Princeton men's and women's programs to their first joint national title. Stone has had two siblings fence at Princeton, with current senior brother Robert and sophomore sister Gracie, and all three were All-America honorees in 2013, the only season they were together as a group at Princeton.
