Men's Tennis Enjoys Successful First Day in Virginia

The four-man contingent from Princeton at the Virginia Fall Classic went 9 of 10 in matches on the tournament's first day Friday.

Ben Quazzo, Dan Davies and Josh Yablon all advanted to the quarterfinals of their respective draws, while that trio and Zack McCourt contributed to a pair of doubles wins.

Orange Draw, first round: Zack McCourt (P) def. Koen Wiggeman (ODU), 6-3, 6-4
Orange Draw, quarterfinal: (117) Justin Shane (Virginia) def. McCourt (P), 7-5, 6-2

White Draw, first round: Ben Quazzo (P) def. James Fudge (Longwood), 6-4, 7-6
White Draw, quarterfinal: Quazzo (P) def. Zack Lewis (Coll. of Charleston), 7-5, 7-6

Gold Draw, first round: Dan Davies (P) def. Guillem Secanel (Liberty), 7-5, 6-2
Gold Draw, quarterfinal: Davies (P) def. Steed Johnson (Longwood), 6-3, 6-0

Green Draw, first round: Josh Yablon (P) def. Brett Moorhead (JMU), 4-6, 6-4, 6-2
Green Draw, quarterfinal: Yablon (P) def. Rami Labna (Penn St.), 7-6, 6-1

Red Draw, quarterfinal: Ben Quazzo/Josh Yablon (P) def. Mateo Cevallos/Steed Johnson (Longwood), 8-4

Black Draw, quarterfinal: Zack McCourt/Dan Davies (P) def. Rodrigo Encinas/Charlie Ghriskey (Coll. of Charleston), 8-3
