PRINCETON, N.J. (9/5/13) – Head Princeton women's track & field and cross country coach Peter Farrell is pleased to announce his incoming class of 16 members that will make up the Class of 2017.

“We are excited about the addition of these phenomenal student-athletes that make up the Class of 2017,” head coach Peter Farrell said. “This Class addresses our middle distance and cross country aspects, which is a perfect complement to last year’s Class that was strong in sprints and field events. It’s a diverse group that represents 10 states and includes three international student-athletes. We’re looking forward to getting started this fall and hope to have another terrific year.”

Ariel Becker (Arroyo Grande, Calif./San Luis Obispo) is both a sprinter and jumper. She has personal bests of 12.39 in the 100 and 25.66 in the 200. In the long jump she reached 18-9.5 (5.73m) at the Pac 7 League finals during the 2012 outdoor season. During the same season she was the Pac 7 league champion in the 100 winning in 12.48, the long jump at 18-9.5 and was third in the 300 hurdles.

One of three international recruits is Allison Harris (Toronto, Ont./Bishop Stratchan). Harris specializes in both the high hurdles and pole vault. Harris owns a PR of 14.33 in the high hurdles and a 12-4 (3.76m) in the pole vault. She was the runner-up in both events at the 2012 OFSAA Track & Field Championships with a 14.37 and an 11-5.75 (3.50), respectively.

Sydney Hausman (New York, N.Y./The Brearley School) and Alexandra Lanzafame (Poulsbo, Wash./North Kitsap) are both jumpers. Hausman has a PR of 38-9 (11.81m) in the triple jump, which came in her second-place finish at the Glenn D. Loucks Games during the 2012 outdoor season. She won the triple at Disney’s Track & Field Showcase two months earlier reaching 37-7.97 (11.48m). Lanzafame is both a triple and long jumper. She has a PR of 38-9.25 (11.82m) in the triple and 18-4.75 (5.61m) in the long jump. Lanzafame won the long jump in 10 meets during the outdoor 2012 season including capturing the Washington State crown with a winning jump of 18-4.75. That same season she won 13 triple jumps including the state championship with her PR of 38-9.25.

Pole vaulter Lauren Santi (Golden, Colo./Lakewood) reached a PR of 11-6. She competed in states during her sophomore, junior and senior years. She won states as a junior with a PR of 11-6 and was fifth in 2013 (11-3) and seventh in 2011 (10-0). Santi was fourth at the Colorado USATF Junior Olympic Championships.
