Sophomore Harrison Wagner and freshman Byron Sanborn were among the group of swimmers who heard the familiar refrain all season: Without the Class of 2012, there was no chance the Ivy League championship was coming back to Princeton.

Both they and their teammates had other ideas, though. After helping Princeton win its fifth straight Ivy League title three weeks ago, both Wagner and Sanborn will lead a cast of six Princeton swimmers to the 2013 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, held March 28-30 in Indianapolis.

Joining the duo, both of whom will compete in both individual and relay events, will be the quartet of Sandy Bole, Teo D'Alessandro, Connor Maher and Michael Strand. That group of four will be part of Princeton's 200/400 medley relays, as well as the 400/800 free relays.

Wagner, the Ivy League champion in the 50, is currently ranked 19th nationally in that event with a time of 19.58. He is also eligible to swim in the 100 free, where he currently ranks 50th in 43.66, though he will undoubtedly be a critical piece to several Princeton relays. Wagner's performances in the Ivy League relays were among the top highlights in a weekend filled with championship efforts by Princeton when it rallied past Harvard to win the 2013 Ivy title.

While that title was Wagner's second, it was the first for Sanborn and the rest of the talented Class of 2016. Sanborn currently ranks 24th in the 200 breast in 1:55.58, and there are only three freshmen nationally who have faster times this season. He is also eligible to compete in the 100 breast, where he is 40th in a time of 53.94.
