Yale Clinches Ivy League Volleyball Title With Sweep At Princeton
The Yale women's volleyball team clinched the Ivy League title and automatic bid to the NCAA tournament Saturday night with a 3-0 sweep of Princeton during Senior Night for the Tigers.
Yale moved to 12-0 on the Ivy League season with a 25-20, 25-16, 28-26 victory over the Tigers, who remain alone in second place with a 9-3 league mark.
Senior Lydia Rudnick, the Ivy League leader in kills and points, recorded 11 kills, eight digs and four blocks in her final home match at Dillon Gym, while both sophomore Sarah Hanna and freshman Kendall Peterkin added nine kills apiece. Freshman Sarah Daschbach led the defense with 15 digs, while sophomore Ginny Willis recorded 36 assists to lead the offense.
Princeton is now 12-10 on the season, and it will conclude its season on the road next weekend with matches at Cornell and Columbia.
