Princeton completed its 2014 Ivy League regular season by retaining the Class of 1984 Plaque on Lake Carnegie. The Cup is raced for in a team format, and the Tigers claimed each race, including the three NCAA Championship format races, to retain the Plaque over both Dartmouth and Penn.

The regatta, originally scheduled for Dartmouth, was moved to Lake Carnegie because of unsure conditions of the Connecticut River.

The varsity eight moved to 6-1 in the Ivy League and 7-2 oerall with a 9.1-second victory over Dartmouth. The Big Green finished second by more than 14 seconds over Penn.

The Princeton 2V completed its second straight perfect Ivy League season with a win of nearly 15 seconds over Penn.

"The 2V has experienced line-up changes throughout the year but has been very adaptive, which requires a lot of focus from everyone," said junior Anna Ionson, who has stroked the 2V through April. "I think we have improved our race plan execution and have become more responsive to calls as a collective boat. The conditions were challenging in the race today, and we still have a lot to work on but I think everyone is positive and driven moving forward into the last few weeks before the Ivy League Championships."

Ionson and the rest of the 2V will be driven by the memories of the 2013 Ivy Championships, when their perfect league record did not translate to gold at Cooper River. However, Ionson believes the team's focus on the present and future will be the key to success May 18 at the 2014 Championships.

"While results from last year are still fresh in everyone's memories, it's a new year, a new chance and a new crew competing," she said. "Regardless of results from this year or the last, we are all going to be pushing our limits in training."

The varsity four picked up a win of more than 17 seconds over Dartmouth, while the 3V and V4B also had convincing wins.

Princeton will conclude its season next Saturday against Clemson. Following the regatta, the program will celebrate a boat dedication in honor of head coach Lori Dauphiny, who has led Princeton to five Ivy League titles and two V8 gold medal at the NCAA Championships.
