BOX SCORE

Freshman Kendall Peterkin recorded 15 kills and hit .560 for Princeton, which remained in the Ivy League race Friday night with a hard-fought 3-0 home victory over Brown.

The reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Week added a block and two digs for the Tigers, who moved to 9-2 in the Ivy League with a 27-25, 25-23, 25-22 victory over Brown.

While one freshman had a stellar night, the trio from the Class of 2013 opened their Senior Weekend in impressive fashion. Two-time All-Ivy League honoree Lydia Rudnick recorded 13 kills and four blocks, while rightside Jennifer Palmquist added seven kills and three blocks. Molly Bagshaw, who rotated at setter with Ginny Willis, added 16 assists and six digs.

Princeton had to battle deep into each set to earn the victory. Brown held a set ball in the opener, but a Rudnick kill and a service ace by libero Sarah Daschbach gave Princeton a 26-25 lead. A Brown hitting error gave Princeton the 1-0 lead.

The second set was even at 23-23 when Leah Jordan (three kills, three blocks) gave Princeton a set ball with a kill. She then combined with Palmquist for a set-winning block, and the Tigers held off Brown throughout the third to clinch the win.

Princeton remains alone in second place, and will host reigning Ivy champion Yale Saturday at 5. Yale was unbeaten heading into the weekend and defeated Penn 3-1 Friday night at the Palestra.
