The seventh-ranked Princeton open crew completed its third consecutive perfect Ivy League season and won its 28th straight Class of 1984 Plaque during a successful day on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.

Princeton swept all six races against both No. 19 Dartmouth and unranked Penn to improve its Ivy League win streak to 23. The varsity eight, rowing in a slight headwind, topped Dartmouth by 6.9 seconds with a winning time of 6:45.4.

Unlike the rest of its regular season Cup competitions, the Class of 1984 Plaque is determined by team format, similar to the NCAA Championships. Both the Princeton second varsity and the varsity four did their part to keep the Tigers perfect in the all-time series.

The second varsity posted a winning time of 6:53.6 to defeat Penn by 11.5 seconds, while the varsity four topped Dartmouth by 18.3 seconds with a winning time of 7:58.2.

By matching the victory by the varsity eight, both the 2V and the V4 will enter the May 13 Ivy League Championships as the top seed after completing perfect Ivy League seasons. The varsity four improved to 9-0 on the season with its pair of wins.

"It was a good day," head coach Lori Dauphiny said. "We raced under sunny skies and warm temperatures. It was a solid performance throughout the team. Every boat made good progress this week. This league is pretty tight. We are pleased with our season but we will need to keep progressing."

The third varsity also remained perfect throughout the 2012 season with a 23.7-second win over Penn (7:21.1). Both the V4B and the V4C also scored wins over the Quakers.

Amazingly, this short trip to the Schuylkill River will be the longest road trip of the season for the Tigers, who won't cross state lines again. Princeton will complete its regular season at home next weekend against No. 20 Tennessee, and then will prepare for both the Ivy League Championships (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and the NCAA Championships (West Windsor, N.J.).
