As head coach Paul Rassam begins his second decade as the Princeton women’s lightweight head coach, he continues to seek the most talented recruits in the nation and try to build a varsity eight that challenges for gold at both Sprints and IRAs.
Last season, Rassam brought in three freshmen who all spent at least some time in the varsity boat. Two of them races in the IRA championship final, and also helped the Tigers to the Sprints medal stand.
He has similar hopes for his four recruits in the Class of 2018, who will compete for spots in a varsity boat that only lost two seniors following the 2014 season. That type of competition should enhance an already talented boat that will have the likes of Harvard and Stanford squarely in its focus.
