As they head into their championship weekends, men's swimming sophomore Michael Strand and wrestling head coach Chris Ayres join the latest edition of TigerCast.
Strand will be looking to lead Princeton to a fifth straight Ivy title in men's swimming and diving. Strand had three top-five finishes during his Ivy League Championships debut last year, including a runner-up finish in the 100 back. Strand figures to be a key piece in both the back and fly events for a Princeton team that will compete in six sessions over three days at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center on the
campus of Brown University.
Ayres will lead the wrestling team into the 109th EIWA Championships, being held at the RAC on the campus of Rutgers University. There are 45 automatic bids to the NCAA Championships available, and Ayres would love to see his squad steal a few from their higher-ranked opponents. Princeton has two 20-match winners heading into the weekend, including freshman Scott Gibbons. Senior Zach Bintliff is a two-time EIWA placewinner and was preseeded sixth Wednesday night.
