Led by Katie Rigler’s pair of hat tricks and a well-balanced offensive attack, the ninth-ranked Princeton women’s water polo team swept day one of the MAAC/CWPA Crossover Saturday in Cambridge, Mass. The Tigers, who remain undefeated and improve to 9-0, opened with a 15-6 win over Siena and then topped Wagner 14-8.

Princeton will conclude the tournament Sunday with Iona at 11:45 a.m.

Along with her team-leading six goals, Rigler matched that with six steals on the day. Ashley Hatcher and Diana Murphy added five goals each and Taylor Dunstan guided the assist effort with five.

In the early game, Hatcher, Murphy and Rigler paced the attack with three goals apiece. Rigler was an all-around dominating force in the water, tallying a team-high five steals.

Morgan Hallock and Jessie Holechek each had a pair of goals, while Dunstan dished a team-best three assists and made a steal.

In her first career start, goalie CeCe Coffey earned her first win after amassing four saves and two steals in her complete game effort.

Princeton jumped out early with a 6-1 lead and expanded it to 9-3 by halftime. Coffey made three saves over the final two periods, as the Tigers outscored the Saints 6-4 to close things out.

In the second meeting between Princeton and Wagner, it was again the Tigers to come out on top.

Princeton quickly took command and held a 5-1 lead after the first quarter. After leading 8-3 at halftime, Wagner began to take more chances and both sides scored three goals in the third quarter. Relying on their early advantage, the Tigers closed out the contest outscoring the Seahawks 3-2 to earn the win.

In goal, Ashleigh Johnson made several booming stops and finished with 12 saves and two steals.

Both Rigler and Pippa Temple had three-goal outings, while Hatcher and Murphy each scored twice.

Assists came in twos for the Tigers, as Dunstan, Holechek, Klein and Molly McBee each had a pair.
