de La Bruyere Wins Mile and 3k at Sykes-Sabock Challenge
Junior Emily de La Bruyere was a double winner as the Princeton women’s track & field team finished third at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup at Penn State on Saturday, Feb. 8.
de La Bruyere won both the mile and the 3k. She ran a PR of 4:50.08 in the mile and a 9:39.06 in the 3k.
Senior Kacie O’Neil was the runner-up in the 600. She earned eight points with a PR of 1:33.78. She made up the final leg of the 4x400 that finished sixth. Along with freshman Elisa Steele, senior Emily Broyles and sophomore Meghan McMullin the relay ran 3:51.20.
In a tightly contested 800 race, freshman Rachael Chacko was fifth at 2:13.19.
Sophomores Kerry Krause and Inka Busack each earned a point in the high jump. The pair along with senior Theresa Kennedy all cleared 1.68 (5-6).
Princeton finished the meet with 75.50 points for third. PSU won the meet wit 228.50 points with Buffalo second with 86. Princeton finished 11.5 points ahead of Ivy League competitor Penn, which was fifth.
Meanwhile, junior Imani Oliver competed at The Armory Collegiate Invitational in New York. She reached 11.80 (38-8.75) in the triple jump.
