Women's Hockey Wins Third Straight with 5-2 Win at Brown
PROVIDENCE (11/9/13) - The Princeton women's hockey team won its third straight game as the Tigers defeated Brown 5-2 on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Meehan Auditorium.
The team's traded power-play goals to start the game with each scoring on its first opportunity. Yang put up Brown's first goal, while Alleva notched her first of two.
Alleva gave Princeton its first lead with the only goal of the second period, once again coming on the power play.
The Tigers put together another high-scoring third period as they tallied three straight to take the 5-1 lead. Sophomore Cristin Shanahan, freshman Cassidy Tucker and junior Brianna Leahy each scored.
Brown's Erin Conway took advantage of Princeton's only penalty in the third and made it 5-2 with 3:15 remaining in the game.
Sophomore Kimberly Newell earned the win in net making 24 saves. Brown's Aubree Moore stopped 21 on the other end as both team's put up 26 shots apiece.
Princeton improves to 4-2 overall and in the ECAC. The Tigers play their first non-conference games of the season this weekend, Nov. 15 & 16 when they host New Hampshire and Boston College.
