Men's Swimming/Diving Drops Season Finale, Prepares For Ivy Championships
The four-time defending Ivy League swimming & diving team may be more than happy to see the calendar turn to March. Following a split at H-Y-P and a postponed meet due to snow, the Tigers dropped their season finale 158-139 at Columbia.
Among the Tiger winners were Stevie Vines (3 meter, 393.61 pts and 1 meter, 333.68 pts), En-Wei Hu-Van Wright (100 back, 50.60), Harrison Wagner (50 free, 20.71 and 100 free, 45.39) and Teo D'Alesandro (200 IM, 1:52.59).
The 200 medley relay team of Kaspar Raigla, Jack Pohlmann, Brooks Powell and Wagner also earned a win in 1:31.73.
Princeton will now turn its attention to March, when the stakes are raised to a championship level. The Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center in Providence will host the 2013 Ivy League Championships March 7-9, and the Tigers will enter the weekend as both hunter and hunted. While Princeton has been the dominant power in the league over the last four seasons, Harvard is the team that captured the dual meet crown this season and Columbia hasn't lost a dual meet since November.
