After its first win over a nationally ranked opponent in more than a decade, the Princeton wrestling team will look to carry that momentum into a three-match homestand, which begins Friday at 7 p.m. against Ivy League rival Columbia.

Princeton defeated No. 23 Harvard 25-14 last weekend in Cambridge. The highlight of that match was a victory for the now-16th-ranked Daniel Kolodzik, who defeated 2011 All-America Walter Peppelman at 157 pounds. The victory, Kolodzik's first in five tries over two years against the Crimson standout, earned him the EIWA Wrestler of the Week honor.

The team win was not without its low point, though, as freshman Chris Perez suffered an injury during the match and will likely miss the weekend, which will include a Sunday doubleheader against Clarion (1) and Franklin & Marshall (2:30).

Princeton can reach the .500 mark in the Ivy League with a win Friday. After losses to both Cornell and Brown, the Tigers rebounded in the league with the upset win over Harvard. Princeton and Columbia have split the last two years, with the Lions winning a 32-8 home decision over the Tigers.

While both Kolodzik and 13th-ranked Adam Krop (141) both lead Princeton with 26 victories, the Tigers have gotten strong contributions from other spots in the lineup. Two key performers from last weekend were junior Zach Bintliff, who was unbeaten at 149, and senior Kurt Brendel, who clinched the Harvard victory with a pin at 197.

Senior Andy Lowy, the 174-pound starter, could record his first 20-win season if he has a perfect weekend. Lowy, who went 2-1 last weekend, is 17-9 on the season.

Columbia is 4-3 overall, 0-1 in the Ivy League, and has three starters with at least 20 wins. Junior Stephen West, a likely opponent for Lowy Friday night, leads the Lions with 24 victories. Classmate Jake O'Hara has 21 wins and will face Kolodzik, who O'Hara topped 11-9 in overtime last season. Senior Kyle Gilchrist is 20-10 and will likely face Princeton's Joe DeQuinzio.

Clarion is 2-6 on the season, but it has the two highest-ranked wrestlers that will compete in Dillon Gym this weekend. Junior James Fleming is 19-2 and ranked fourth nationally, while senior Bekzod Abdurakhmonov is 23-4 on the season and is ranked fifth.

Franklin & Marshall is 1-12 on the season and has been led by Richard Durso, who has 25 victories at 141.
