PRINCETON, N.J. (1/4/14) - The Princeton men's track team returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 5 when it travels to Navy to compete in a dual with the Midshipmen.

This will be the 43rd dual meet between Princeton and Navy in the last 56 years. The teams are even in those meets at 21-21. Navy won last year's meet 91-89, ending a nine-meet win streak for Princeton, as the Tigers had some early season injuries.

At last year's meet Tom Hopkins won three events to highlight the Princeton performances. He won the long jump as the only jumper to clear 7 meters, reaching 7.39 (24-3). He then won the 400 at 48.72 and the 200 at 22.14.

In the field events, Scott Rushton won the shot put. He was the only thrower to reach 15 meters as he hit 15.67 (51-5). Omar Jarrett won the high jump with a PR of 2.07 (6-9.5), reaching the mark on his second attempt. He was the only jumper to clear two meters.

Princeton went 1-2-3 in the 60-meter dash. John Hill bolted to a 6.91 with Dre Nelson second at 7.03 and Tumi Akinlawon at 7.05.

Michael Williams picked up two wins, the first in the 800. Williams clocked at 1:54.91 in the 800 and won the distance medley relay along with Eddie Owens, Michael Palmisano and Chris Crawford. The relay ran 10:14.29, nearly eight seconds faster than Navy.
