NEW ORLEANS (7/24/13) - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the women's 2013 Division I All-Academic Track & Field team. Earning the honors for Princeton are junior Alejandro Arroyo Yamin, senior Peter Callahan, senior Michael Franklin, junior Tom Hopkins and junior Brad Pelisek.

The men's track & field team also qualified with a cumulative 3.04 GPA to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors.

Arroyo Yamin qualified in the outdoor 10k as he competed at the East Regional. This is his third time earning all-academic honors, earning them during the 2012 cross country season and the 2012 track season.

Callahan won the national championship as the anchor of the indoor distance medley relay. He has earned all-academic honors during every track season during his Princeton career.

Franklin qualified in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Indoors Franklin ranked 46th in the 3000 and 96th in the 5000. He won the Heps title in the indoor 5k and won both the 5 and 10k titles during the outdoor season. Franklin ranked 17th in the 10k outdoor and 57th in the 5k. He qualified for the regional in both events. Franklin earned All-America honors in the 10k finishing fifth at the national championship at 29:42.34, Princeton's best finish at the NCAAs in the 10k.

Hopkins qualified with her indoor rankings of 88th in the 400 and 55th in the long jump, while outdoors he qualified in the 400 and 4x400. The relay reached the NCAA Championship finishing 22nd in the nation while Hopkins finished 16th at the Regional in the 400. This is Hopkins' first All-Academic honor. He claimed three Heps titles during both seasons, while placing second three times and scoring in two other events.

Pelisek was 86th in the heptathlon indoor and 37th in the decathlon outdoor. He was a scorer in both events at Heps, as well as in the javelin.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
