PRINCETON, N.J. (11/10/12) - Senior netminder Mike Condon earned his first shutout of the season as the Princeton men's hockey team defeated Colgate 4-0 on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Hobey Baker Rink.

The Tigers swept the weekend, after defeating No. 4 Cornell 5-3 yesterday afternoon.

Princeton got on the board with a power-play goal late in the first period and padded the lead with a goal in the first two minutes of the second. The Tigers finished off the Raiders with a pair of goals midway through the third.

Freshman Mike Ambrosia notched his first career goal at 19:46 when Princeton capitalized on a 5x3 opportunity after a hitting from behind and a boarding call on Kyle Baun and Darcy Murphy. Ambrosia picked up the puck in the neutral zone and skated to the center where he backhanded a pass to junior Andrew Calof. Calof skated around his defender to the bottom of the right circle and put the puck in the slot where Ambrosia could bury it glove side on Spencer Finney as sophomore Tyler Maugeri set a screen on the right side.

Zajac earned his second goal of the weekend as he gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead at 1:24 of the second period. He set up his own goal as he gained possession back for Princeton when he banged the puck free in the low right corner. Junior captain Jack Berger pushed it off the boards and into the circle where senior Rob Kleebaum one-timed it at Finney. Finney made the stop but the rebound came back to Kleebaum who fired again where it hit the pad of Finney and Zajac was able to pop it in on the right side as he was stationed at the post.

Princeton scored twice within 1:27 in the third period, with goals by Maugeri and senior defender Michael Sdao.

It was a seamless 1-2-3 as Andrew Ammon stripped Goulakos of the puck at the blue line, Calof picked it up and skated into the circle and sent the puck across the paint to Maugeri who put it into the right side.

The final Princeton goal was much like a power-play goal as junior Eric Meland slid the puck across the blue line to D partner Sdao who wristed a shot that beat Finney. Kleebaum would get the secondary assist by dishing to Meland along the boards.

Princeton was 1 for 6 on the power play and 6 for 6 on the penalty kill. The Tigers outshot the Raiders 15-3 in the first period and 11-8 in the second. Colgate got the upperhand in the third with 11 shots to Princeton's nine but senior netminder Condon made 11 big saves to keep the clean sheet in the final frame. Condon finished the game with 22 saves to earn his second win and first shutout of the season.

Finney made 31 stops for Colgate who falls to 4-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the ECAC. Princeton is now 2-2 and 2-0 in the league.

Princeton will hit the road for the next seven games. First up is a trip to the North Country to face Coach Bob Prier's alma mater St. Lawrence on Nov. 16 and then Clarkson on Nov. 17.
