Courtesy: Dan GrossmanPRINCETON, N.J. (4/20/12) - The Princeton men's track & field won two events to open the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday, April 20 at Weaver Stadium.
Sophomore Chris Bendtsen won the 5000 with a PR of 13:57.51, shaving 7.23 seconds off his previous best time. He was one of just two in the race of 100 runners to finish the event under 14 minutes. Sophomore Alejandro Arroyo Yamin also ran a PR improving on his previous best by more than nine seconds, as he clocked in at 14:02.08 for fifth place. In ninth place was senior Brian Leung who also ran a PR of 14:09.82.
Senior Donn Cabral was the champion in the 1500 running a PR of 3:42.83, approximately four seconds better than his previous best time. Senior Trevor Van Ackeren ran 3:46.19 to finish in seventh place.
Freshman Connor Martin improved on his steeplechase time by nearly 14 seconds as he finished in 8:57.61 to take 11th.
Sophomore Michael Williams had the best time for the Tigers in the 800 clocking in at 1:52.23.
