PRINCETON, N.J. (4/19/12) - The Princeton track & field teams hosts the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21 at Weaver Stadium. More than 2,000 athletes have been accepted to the meet with more than 200 collegiate and track clubs participating.

In addition, senior Joe Stilin will race in the 5k at the Mt. Sac Relay in Walnut, Calif. The race is scheduled for Friday at 9:10 p.m., PT.

Attending the meet are student-athletes from: Adelphi, Albany, AIC, Army, Bentley, Binghamton, Brandeis, Brown, BU, Buffao, CCSU, Colgate, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Delaware State, Duquesne, East Carolina, Elizabethtown, FDU, Fordham, George Mason, Georgetown, Harvard, Haverford, Indiana, Iona, Keene State, Kutztown, La Salle, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola, Manhattan, Mansfield, Marist, Messiah, Middlebury, MIT, Monmouth, Montclair State, Moravian, Mt. St. Mary's, Muhlenberg, Navy, New Haven, Northeastern, NYU, Penn, Providence, Quinnipiac, URI, Richmond, Rider, Rowan, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, So. Conn. St., St. Francis (NY), St. Joseph's, St. John's, St. Peter's, Stonehill, Stony Brook, SUNY New Paltz, Syracuse, TCNJm Temple, Tiffin, Trinity, Tufts, UConn, UMass, UMass-Lowell, UMBC, UNH, Villanova, Wagner, West Virginia, Widener, William & Mary, Williams and Yale.

The meet will begin with the men's and women's hammer throw on Friday at 3 p.m., at West Windsor Fields, the only event that does not take place at Weaver Stadium. The track events begin at 5 p.m., with the women's 5k "B" heat and conclude with the men's 5k at 10 p.m., with features three heats.

On Saturday, the women's 4x100 relay kicks things off at noon. The women's shot put and men's long jump will also commence at noon. The final event is the men's 4x400 slated for 6 p.m.

Last year the men's team won four events. Craig Pearce '11 won the hammer throw with a throw of 62.70 and David Slovenski '12 won the pole vault as he cleared 5.15. The Tigers went 1-2-3 in the 400 with Russell Dinkins '13 capturing first at 47.18. Mark Amirault won the mile at 4:03 flat. Alum David Nightingale '08 won the 5k with the only time under 14 minutes as he clocked in at 13:58.58.

The women's team won four events. Thanithia Billings '11 won the shot put with a top throw of 14.44 while Emma Ruggiero '11 won the hammer. Princeton had four pole vaulters in the top 10 led by Tory Worthen '13 who won the event clearing 4.01. Greta Feldman '13 won the 800 out of 64 competitors with a PR of 2:10.68.
