Men's Track Kicks off Day 1 of Sam Howell Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/4/14) - The 2014 Sam Howell Invitational kicked off today at Weaver Stadium.

Getting the day started was the men's hammer throw event. Senior Jake Taylor was eighth with a throw of 53.93 (176-11). Sopho,ore Bryan Oslin followed up with a fourth-place showing in the pole vault as he cleared 4.35 (14-3.25).

Freshman William Paulson was the runner up in the 1500 elite race at 3:49.91 in what was a tight race to the finish between three competitors. Paulson was two hundredths of a second behind the winner and one hundredth of a second in front of the third-place finsiher. 

In the final event of the day, junior Matt McDonald and sophomore Michael Sublette went 6-7 in the 10k. McDOnald clocked 30:47.81 while Sublette ran 30:48.16.

Day 2 of the meet begins at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
