The Princeton sprint football team concluded the 2013 campaign with a 72-29 loss at Penn Friday evening in Philadelphia. The Tigers end the year at 0-7, 0-6 CSFL.

Chad Cowden led the offense with three touchdowns, including a rushing score, and threw for 228 yards on 20 completions.

Penn only held a slight 23-22 first down advantage, but outrushed the Tigers 224-70 and scored six touchdowns on the ground.

The Tiger offense opened with a 17-yard rushing touchdown by John Wolfe to go up 6-0 at 12:18 in the first quarter. It would be the only lead Princeton would hold for the remainder of the contest.

Penn responded with a 35 uncontested points, before Princeton added its second touchdown before the end of the first half.

Cowden capped off an eight-play 57-yard drive by connecting with Chris McCord for a five-yard pass into the end zone, along with a two-point conversion to Wolfe to make it 35-14 at 3:10 in the second quarter.

Princeton was unable to slow down Penn before it scored again, this time on a Cowden one-yard pass to Kevin Ma to make it 65-21 with 4:10 to play in the third. Cowden’s second touchdown of the evening capped off a 10-play 69-yard drive over a 4:08-minute span.

The Tigers scored their final touchdown on a one-yard Cowden run with 9:57 left in the fourth quarter.

The game would be called with 8:37 left in regulation.
