Courtesy: Beverly SchaeferThe Princeton women's swimming and diving team will have a pair of critical meets at Denunzio Pool this winter, and it had its final tune-up before the annual H-Y-P weekend with a successful home scrimmage Friday afternoon.
Among the individual winners were senior co-captain Kathy Qu, who took the 200 fly in 2:04.87, and freshman Morgan Karetnick, who won the 50 free in 23.71. Karetnick added a second win in the 100 fly, when her time of 55.64 topped classmate Nikki Larson by one second.
Princeton won both relays during the day. In the 200 medley, the team of Lisa Boyce, Sarah Furgatch, Larson and Karetnick won in 1:42.95; the 200 free relay quartet of Larson, Qu and freshmen Sada Stewart and Elizabeth McDonald won in 1:36.42.
Beyond those winners, Princeton had a plethora of second- and third-place finishers. All times are available in the "complete results" link above. No team scores were kept.
Princeton will return from its exam break for a meet on Sunday, Jan. 27, at Lehigh. The following weekend is H-Y-P, which begins with a Friday, Feb. 1, session at 6 pm. Senior Day and the second session will be held Sat., Feb. 2, at noon.
