Courtesy: Beverly SchaeferSenior tri-captain Zach Bintliff was Princeton's last man standing at the 50th Midlands Championships, but his run to the medal stand ended in a 9-5 overtime defeat to North Carolina's Christian Barber.
After two wins in the consolation round during the first day of the Championships, Bintliff went head-to-head against Barber and nearly kept his season alive, though the overtime session would not go Bintliff's way.
His two victories at Midlands gives Bintliff double-digit wins this season, making him the third Princeton wrestler to achieve that mark. Freshman Scott Gibbons, who also won twice this weekend, leads the Tigers with 13 victories, while junior Seth Hazleton reached the 10-win mark during Friday's Wilkes Open.
Princeton will return to competition next Saturday when it travels to Lancaster, Pa., for the Franklin & Marshall Open.
