Hank Zimmerman, the former head coach of the Georgetown women’s lightweight team, will enter his second season as the women's lightweight assistant during the 2013-14 year.
In his first season, Zimmerman helped Princeton earn a silver medal at the Eastern Sprints, despite a very young boat. Princeton also earned a regular-season win over Wisconsin and a runner-up finish at the San Diego Crew Classic.
Prior to Georgetown, Zimmerman was an assistant coach for the both the men’s and women’s rowing programs at Franklin and Marshall College. While at Franklin and Marshall, he received his masters in education from Millersville University.
“We are very excited to have Hank contribute to our program,” Rassam said. “He will be an asset for both our young walk-on rowers as well as our veterans. I look forward to working together with him towards the goal of maintaining Princeton’s position as one of the premier lightweight programs in the country.”
Zimmerman graduated from Ithaca College in 2009, where he walked onto the rowing team with no experience.
“I am extremely excited to join the Princeton lightweight team and work with Paul,” Zimmerman said. “Princeton is one of the best universities in the country and I am honored to be part of the rowing program’s tradition.”
