This Week for the Tigers:
• The 14-game tournament known as the Ivy League season officially kicks off this Saturday, Jan. 11 for the Princeton women’s basketball team (9-5) at Penn (7-2) at 3 p.m. in Philadelphia.
• Princeton enters this weekend’s action as the four-time defending Ivy League champions and preseason predicted winner.

Last Time Out:
• The Tigers responded from a slow first half to top Drexel, 66-59, on Jan. 4 and win their ninth consecutive versus the regional foe.
• Princeton only had 23 first half points and went into halftime down 25-23, before getting in a back-and-forth battle with the Dragons and then ultimately going off on a 10-0 run to close the game out over the final 1:54.
• The score was tied 10 times and the lead transferred 14 times in the game.

On Deck: Princeton will take a 20-day break in play due to finals before resuming action with Harvard (Jan. 31) and Dartmouth (Feb. 1) at home.

Scouting Penn:
• Penn enters Saturday’s meeting winners of its last seven games and holds a 7-2 overall record.
• Prior to hosting the Tigers the Quakers will make a midweek trip to Morgan State on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
• The Quakers are averaging 63.0 points per game for a +5.0 scoring margin.
• Senior Alyssa Baron headlines the offense with 13.7 points per game, followed by freshman Sydney Stipanovich’s 12.2 points and team-best 8.1 rebounds per game.

All-Time versus Penn:
• Princeton owns the all-time series versus Penn, 51-23, winning the last 10 consecutive meetings.
• The series began in 1974-75 and Penn last defeated Princeton in head coach Courtney Banghart’s first season, 85-78, on Mar. 11, 2008 in Philadelphia.
• In their last meeting, the Tigers earned a 60-44 victory over Penn on Mar. 12, 2013.

Miller Collects Second Ivy Player of the Week:
• Sophomore Michelle Miller collected the second Ivy League Player of the Week honor of her career and the season.
• She is coming off a career performance at Drexel tallying a personal and game-high 23 points, matching Princeton’s first half point total.
• She went 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) from the field and was 71.4 percent (5-of-7) from downtown.
• Miller matched career-bests in both triples and rebounds (8) over her 32-minute performance. 

Looking Back:
• Princeton closed out the non-conference slate with a 9-5 record, playing all but four games on the road.
• The Tigers played four major conferences: ACC, American, Pac-12 and SEC, going 1-3.
• The Tigers strung together a five-game winning streak and have been winners of seven of the last nine games entering conference action. 

Paving the Way:
• Junior Blake Dietrick’s outstanding season continues after she scored in double figures for the sixth consecutive game at Drexel with 18 points.
• She has scored in double digits in 11-of-14 games this year and is averaging a team-best 15.4 points per game.
• Her success beyond the arc leads the Ivy League, as she’s averaging 44.6 (41-for-92) from three-point.
• At Drexel, she had a team-high nine rebounds nearly tallying her first career double-double. 

Road Warriors:
• With nine of 14 preseason games on the road, the Tigers have definitely become road warriors.
• Princeton is 6-4 in games played away from Jadwin Gym. 

In the League:
• Princeton is the top-ranked team in the Ivy League in the following categories:
• Scoring offense - 73.8
• Scoring margin - +6.9
• Field goal percentage - 46.4 (379-817)
• Rebound defense - 34.2 (479)
• Rebounding margin - +8.6
• Assists - 16.3 (228)
Kristen Helmstetter is No. 1 in assists - 3.7 (52)
Blake Dietrick in No. 1 in three-point field goal percentage - 44.6

The National Scene:
• Princeton is currently ranked in the top-50 nationally in two categories as of the Jan. 6 stats update:
• No. 16 - field goal percentage (46.4)
• No. 31 - rebound margin (8.6)
• No. 49 - assists per game (16.3)
Blake Dietrick is tabbed No. 23 in three-point field goals per game (2.93) and No. 26 in three-point field goal percentage (44.6)

Another Four-Game Road Swing:
• The Tigers will embark on another four-game road swing before their annual break for final exams in January.
• After two games at the Cavalier Classic, Princeton will make day trips to the City of Brotherly Love to face Drexel (Jan. 4) and Penn (Jan. 11).
