Parros, Moore, Powe On the Move During NHL Free Agency

George Parros '03 has been acquired by the Montreal Canadiens it was announced by general manager Marc Bergevin. Parros was acquired from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Phillippe Lefebvre and Florida's seventh round draft pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

"He brings an element of respect, not only on the ice but with his teammates," Bergevin said on NHL.com. "We did our due diligence. He's a good person, a high-character guy that is well liked by his teammates and protects his teammates."

Parros had two points with one goal and one assist in 39 games with the Panthers during the 2012-13 season. He served 57 penalty minutes, recorded 53 hits and averaged 6:26 of ice time per game.

Parros has played in 452 regular season games since his NHL debut in 2005-06. He has collected 35 points on 18 goals and 17 assists and 1,007 penalty minutes. Parros previously played for Los Angeles, Colorado and Anaheim, where he won the Stanley Cup in 2007.

The Boston Bruins gave Mike Moore '08 a two-way one-year contract on Saturday. Moore played in 50 games for Nashville Predators' AHL affiliate Milwaukee Admirals this past season. He had 16 points on five goals and 11 assists and recorded 42 penalty minutes. Moore previously played for San Jose and its affiliate the Worcester Sharks from 2007-12.

Darroll Powe '07 was placed on waivers by the New York Rangers on Thursdsay, one day before free agency began. Powe was acquired by the Rangers in a deal with the Minnesota Wild in a trade for Mike Rupp earlier this season. He played in 37 games for the Rangers before a concussion ended his season.
