Oilers Re-Sign Fedun '11 to One-Year Agreement

The Edmonton Oilers announced today a one-year agreement with former Princeton hockey player Taylor Fedun '11.

Fedun spent the 2012-13 season with the Oklahoma City Barons of the America Hockey League, scoring eight goals and 19 assists with 30 penalty minutes in 70 games. In 17 playoff games, Fedun registered three goals and three assists while helping the Barons reach the Western Conference finals.

Fedun missed the entire 2011-12 season, recovering from a gruesome injury that shattered his femur  during an NHL exhibition game with the Oilers.

In a radio interview following the announcement Fedun said: “It definitely took some time to get adjusted to the game and the lifestyle. But I think as the year wore on, I think I got better and better.”

An All-America at Princeton, Fedun played in 127 career games. He scored 20 goals and 48 assists for 68 points. He is also +41 and has accumulated 154 penalty minutes. As a senior and team captain, Fedun had 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists in 29 games from the blue line. Additional accoldaes include first-team All-ECAC, first-team All-Ivy, second-team All-ECAC, second-team All-Ivy, threetime ECAC All-Academic team selection. Fedun left Princeton as part of the winningest class in program history with 72 wins in four years.

Following his senior season in 2011, Fedun signed a two-year contract with his hometown team Edmonton.
