Calof Wins Gold Medal with Canada at Maccabiah Games

PRINCETON, N.J. (7/31/13) - Princeton hockey player Andrew Calof won a gold medal with Canada at the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel this past weekend. Canada went 5-0 and defeated USA 7-1 in the gold medal game.

Canada defeated Ukraine 7-1, Israel 15-0 and USA 6-1 in the preliminary rounds before topping Israel 13-1 in the semifinals.

Calof was fourth on the team in scoring, averaging 2.0 points per game with 10 points on five goals and five assists in five games.

Against the Ukraine, Calof scored twice with both goals coming in the third period. He added two more in the shutout of Israel and then assisted on the game-winning goal in the first game versus the USA. Calof added two assists in the next game against Israel. In the gold medal game he collected three points, with the primary assist on the game-winning goal and the third goal, while scoring the fourth goal.
