PRINCETON, N.J. (2/13/13) - The final two home weekends of the regular season at upon us, as the Princeton men's hockey teams hosts Clarkson & St. Lawrence this weekend Feb. 15 & 16. Both games begin at 7 p.m.

Princeton’s sweep of Colgate and Cornell last weekend catapulted the Tigers into third place in the ECAC Hockey standings with a 7-6-3 record. The Tigers are 9-10-4 overall and 6-3 since Jan. 1. Princeton’s power play ranks fifth in the nation, converting on 18 of 80 chances for 22.5%. The penalty kill is equally impressive, sitting eighth nationally at 87.5%, killing off 98 of 112 penalties.

Junior Andrew Calof leads the team in scoring with 30 points on 10 goals and 20 assists. Sophomore Tyler Maugeri adds 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists. Junior Andrew Ammon, who scored in both games last weekend, has 14 points. Senior defenders Michael Sdao and Eric Meland have 12 and 11 points, respectively. Senior Mike Condon and junior Sean Bonar have been splitting time in goal lately. Condon is 7-7-3 with a .926 save percentage and a 2.42 goals against average. Bonar is 2-3-1 with an .897 save percentage and a 3.29 GAA.

Clarkson leads the all-time series 73-28-5 since it began in 1927-28. The teams split the series last year with each team winning on its own ice. Earlier this year Clarkson took a 7-2 game, the most goals Princeton has allowed all season. Senior Rob Kleebaum and juniors Andrew Ammon and Andrew Calof all have three points against Clarkson. Junior Sean Bonar is 2-1 against the Golden Knights with a 2.10 GAA and .926 save percentage. Senior Mike Condon hasn’t had as much luck with an 0-2 record, a 6.06 GAA and a .778 save percentage.

Clarkson is 7-14-7 overall and 6-7-3 in the ECAC to sit in eighth place in the league standings. After starting the New year 0-4, the team has been 3-2-2 including a 2-1 win over Union and a 6-2 loss to Rensselaer last weekend. The team averages 2.71 goals per game and allows 3.11. The power play has converted on 18 of 110 chances for 16.4%, while the penalty-kill unit has knocked down 102 of 132 for 77.3%.

Junior Allan McPherson has a team-high 14 assists and eight goals to sit atop the points column with 22. Freshman Pat Megannety has 17 points with seven goals and 10 helpers. Sophomore Joe Zarbo has a team-best 12 goals and four assists for 16 points, while junior Jarrett Burton has 16 points as well on eight goals and assists each. Freshman Greg Lewis has seen the majority of time in net making 25 of 28 starts with a 7-12-6 record. He has a .900 save percentage and a 2.92 GAA. Senior Cody Rosen has made four appearances and has an .880 save percentage and a 3.38 GAA.

St. Lawrence boasts a 63-21-10 lead in the series that began in 1947-48. The Saints are 4-0-1 in the last five meetings with Princeton’s last win on March 4, 2011, a 4-1 game in the first round of the ECAC playoffs. Juniors Andrew Ammon and Andrew Calof both have six points against St. Lawrence with Calof sporting a +7 rating. Senior Michael Sdao adds five, with four goals. Senior Mike Condon is undefeated against St. Lawrence at 1-0-1 with a 2.88 GAA and an .891 save percentage. Junior Sean Bonar is 2-4 with a 2.36 GAA and an .869 save percentage.

St. Lawrence enters the weekend with a 13-11-4 record and is sixth in the league standings with a 6-6-4 mark. The Saints have turned it on lately, going 5-1-2 in their last eight games, their lone loss to Rensselaer in OT. St. Lawrence averages 3.04 gpg, the third-best offense in the league and allows 2.86. They’ve converted on 29 of 144 power-play chances (20.1%) and have killed off 106 of 132 penalties (80.3%).

St. Lawrence boats the top-two scorers in the league, in junior Greg Carey and senior Kyle Flanagan. Carey has 42 points on 20 goals and 22 assists, while Flanagan is on his heels with 38 points on 13 goals and 25 helpers. Senior defender George Hughes leads the league’s defensemen in scoring with four goals and 22 assists. Junior Jeremy Wick is also in double figures with 12 goals and nine helpers for 21 points. Junior Matt Weninger has started in every game in goal and has a 13-11-4 record with a .913 save percentage and a 2.77 GAA.
