ITHACA, N.Y. (2/9/13) - A goal by junior Andrew Ammon and a rock-solid effort by senior Mike Condon guided the Princeton men's hockey team to a 1-0 win over Cornell on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Lynah Rink.

With the win Princeton completes the 4-0 sweep of travel partners Cornell and Colgate.

Princeton improves to 9-10-4 overall and 7-6-3 in the ECAC. With the win Princeton moves into third place in the league standings with 17 points.

Coming off of a 36-save performance last night in a 4-2 win over Colgate, Condon made 39 saves against the Big Red.

Thirty of those saves came in the first 40 minutes of the game. Princeton picked up four penalties during that time to Cornell's one, giving the Big Red that edge in shots. When skating 5x5 during the first two periods shots were 12-11. Princeton finished the game 0 for 3 on the power play and 5 for 5 on the penalty kill.

Ammon's game winner came just 15 seconds into the second period. He skated up the left boards and sniped a shot that beat netminder Andy Iles. Junior Jack Berger and senior Rob Kleebaum assisted after digging the puck out of the corner.

Cornell falls to 8-13-2 overall and 4-10-2 in league play.

Princeton will be in the friendly confines of Hobey Baker Rink for the next to weekends. The Tigers host Clarkson & St. Lawrence next weekend Feb. 15 & 16. Both games start at 7 p.m.
