PRINCETON, N.J. (12/6/12) - The Princeton men's hockey team will play a home-and-home series with travel partner Quinnipiac this weekend. The Bobcats host the Tigers on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. Princeton hosts Quinnipiac at 4 p.m., on Saturday, ending a stretch of seven straight road games.

Princeton enters this weekend’s home-and-home series with a 3-4-3 overall record. The Tigers are tied for fourth in the ECAC Hockey standings with a 2-1-3 record. The team earned two ties last weekend at Rensselaer and at No. 8 Union. Princeton’s power-play unit ranks fourth in the nation converting 10 of 38 for 26.3 percent. Sophomore Tyler Maugeri ranks 10th in the nation in points per game. He has 14 points on six goals and eight assists. Junior Andrew Calof is one point behind with a team-high nine assists and four goals. Junior Andrew Ammon and senior Eric Meland also have nine points apiece. Ammon has scored five goals and four assists, while Meland has assisted nine times. Senior Mike Condon has started in all but one game in goal. He has made 264 saves on 290 shots for a .910 save percentage and a 2.75 goals against average.

Princeton leads the all-time series with its travel partner 8-7-1. The Bobcats swept last season’s games 5-2 and 3-2.  The Tigers’ last win in the series was on Nov. 23, 2010, a 3-0 win in Hamden. Junior Andrew Calof, junior Matt Farris, senior Will MacDonald and senior Michael Sdao all have two points against Quinnipiac. Senior goalie Mike Condon has faced Quinnipiac three times and has a .935 save percentage and a 1.92 GAA, making 72 saves on 77 shots.

Quinnipiac is in first place in the ECAC with a 6-0 record, the only undefeated team in league play. The Bobcats are 10-3-2 on the season, ranked 13th in the USCHO poll and are on a eight-game unbeaten streak at 7-0-1. Quinnipiac handed No. 8 Union a 4-0 loss and Rensselaer a 3-1 loss last weekend. The team has the nation’s best scoring defense allowing just 1.60 goals per game. The Bobcats themselves average 2.73 goals per game. The Bobcats penalty kill ranks third in the nation, killing off 65 of 69 penalties for 94.2 percent. Four seniors lead the team offensively. Jeremy Langlois has 14 points on eight goals and six assists. Clay Harvey has tallied a team-high nine assists and one goal. Russell Goodman, Jordan Samuels-Thomas and freshman Travis St. Denis have seven points apiece. Senior Eric Hartzel has started in goal in all but one game. He has a 1.41 GAA, which ranks third nationally, and a .934 save percentage.
