The Princeton women's swimming and diving team split its opening dual meets of the season, and it got some terrific swims in the process, Sophomore Nicole Larson swept the 200 IM and both fly events, continuing her terrific start to the 2013-14 season, while Lisa Boyce already earned an NCAA B-cut in the 100 back.

"I'm very proud of the way we swam today," head coach Susan Teeter said. "It was an unbelievable fight from everyone. There were some great relay efforts for where we are in the year. I'm looking forward to Big Al and continuing to race."

The meet opened Friday night with diving, and a pair of freshmen continue to show that they could be forces in the league this season. Lisa Li won the 3-meter event with 274.85 points, while classmate Caitlin Chambers placed second with 268.95 points. Chambers, a double winner at the Princeton Open last season, bounced back with a win in the 1-meter event (239.65 points).

The quartet of Lisa Boyce, Olivia Chan, Morgan Karetnick and Nicole Larson finished second in the 200 medley relay in 1:42.69. Sophomore Beverly Nguyen opened the individual events in impressive fashion, topping a trio of Big Red freshmen to win the 400 IM in 4:24.28. Larson followed with a win in the 200 free, topping the field by more than 1.5 seconds in 1:51.06.

The top 100 back duo in the Ivy League went 1-2 in that event, as three-time reigning Ivy League champion Boyce took the event in a B-cut time of 54.62. Sophomore Sada Stewart followed with a runner-up finish in 56.78.

Chan finished second in the 100 breast in 1:04.79, and then Princeton went 1-2-3 in the 200 fly. Larson took the win in 2:01.99, while classmates Karetnick (2:04.84) and Nguyen (2:05.65) followed in the second- and third-place spots.

Boyce took second in the 50 free in 23.42, while freshman Katie Diller added a fifth-place finish in 24.39. Boyce also finished as the runner-up in the 100 free in 51.59, while Stewart took second in the 200 back in 2:03.92. Chan added a third-place finish in the 200 breast in 2:22.10, while freshman Isabel Shipman took third in the 500 free in 5:04.76.

Larson grabbed her second win of the day by taking the 100 fly in 54.70, while Karetnick finished fourth in 56.42. Nguyen finished second in the 200 IM in 2:05.62, and the 200 free relay quartet of Karetnick, McDonald, Remick and Chan won in 1:36.09.

Princeton split the tri-meet, defeating Penn and falling to Cornell. The Tigers will be off next weekend, and will return to DeNunzio Pool Dec. 6-8 for the annual Big Al Open.
