Princeton wrapped its play at the Gopher Fall Invitational in Minnesota Sunday with three singles wins over players from the University of Denver, closing the Tiger men's tennis team's participation in the four-day event.
"We finished up pretty well today and won a couple of close matches," Princeton head coach Billy Pate said. "We still have a lot of work to do, but the areas we need to address are clear. This was a great event in terms of the level of competition and the number of matches nine of our athletes were able to play. We'll get back to work this week and look to finish well in the last event of the fall next weekend."
Zack McCourt, Augie Bloom and Florin Radu were Princeton's winners as the Tigers took the majority of the five singles matches from the Pioneer players. Princeton added a couple of doubles matches with players from Dartmouth, but both Big Green duos prevailed over the Princeton pairs of Dan Davies and Ben Quazzo and Alex Day and Mohamed El Tonbari.
Princeton's fall season will come to a close next weekend with the Lakewood Ranch Invitational in Sarasota, Fla.
