HANOVER, N.H. (10/25/13) - Freshman Hilary Lloyd scored the game-winning goal as the Princeton women's hockey team rallied to defeat Dartmouth 3-2 in the season opener at Thompson Arena on Friday, Oct. 25.

Princeton went down a goal on two occasions but came back from both before Lloyd scored the game winner at 7:12 in the third. Senior Gabie Figueroa and sophomore Jaimie McDonell earned the assists.

Dartmouth's Catherine Berghuis wristed a goal through traffic to give the Big Green the lead at 9:40 of the first.

Less than two minutes later Princeton matched the goal as freshman Cassidy Tucker tallied a short-handed unassisted goal. Tucker intercepted a turnover and sent a backhand top shelf on Dartmouth's Lindsay Holdcroft.

Katty Ratty scored the only goal of the second period as Dartmouth once again took the lead 1-0 with a power-play goal early in the middle frame.

Forty seconds into the third period senior Denna Laing tied the game on a centering pass from classmate Sally Butler who got the puck from defender Ali Pankowski.

Shots on goal was even at 30 for each team.

Sophomore Kimberly Newell made 28 saves in the win for the Tigers. Holdcroft stopped 27 for Dartmouth.
