Princeton's men's golf team is fifth at the Century Intercollegiate after Saturday's first round with one round to play Sunday.
The Tigers (+22) are 10 shots behind leader Dartmouth (+12), which is in front of second-place Temple (+16) by four. Rhode Island (+17), Yale's first team (+19), Princeton, Cornell (+30), Brown (+25) and Yale's second team (+35) complete the field.
Individually, Quinn Prchal (+2), Greg Jarmas (+5), Nicholas Ricci (+7) and Matt Gerber (+8) are in Princeton's scoring four, with Bernie D'Amato (+14) and Joseph D'Amato (+17) completing Princeton's six entrants. Each team is playing six golfers, instead of the usual five, with the top four performances counting toward the team total on the par-71 course.
Dartmouth's Charlie Edler is the frontrunner for medalist honors after the first round as the only player in red numbers, carding an opening-round 70. He's two shots in front of Temple's Matthew Crescenzo and four shots in front of a three-player group that includes Prchal.
