Ivy Defensive Player Of The Year Mike Catapano Turning Heads At Shrine Game

Mike Catapano spent 10 weeks of the Ivy League football season showing NFL scouts what he could do for their teams. Now he's spending a week in St. Petersburg, Florida, doing it again. According to various reports, he has turned several heads during the practice week of the East-West Shrine Game.

Catapano, the 2012 Bushnell Cup recipient as the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, has been mentioned in several reports during the crucial practice week for the East-West Shrine Game.

The NFL Network will broadcast the 88th East-West Shrine Game this Saturday at 4 pm.

Catapano completed a dominant season on the Princeton defensive line, earning unanimous selection to the All-Ivy first team. He led the Ivy League with 12 sacks and ended the regular season ranked second in the Football Championship Subdivision with 1.2 sacks per game. He ranked second in the Ivy League in tackles for loss with 15.5, which was only a half tackle off the League lead, and ranked ninth nationally in that category. The two-year co-captain ended the season with 41 tackles, and he had five games with at least two tackles for loss, as well as five games with at least five tackles.
