Football Preview Series Opens With Look At Deep, Experienced Offensive Line
After its biggest single-season improvement in more than two decades, Princeton football is looking for even more in 2013. With preseason camp less than two weeks away, GoPrincetonTigers.com begins its preseason video series with a look at the offensive line.
Dennis Norman '01, who had been Princeton's last NFL draft selection before Bushnell Cup winner Mike Catapano '13 was taken in the seventh round by the Kansas City Chiefs this past April, holds another distinction at Princeton. He was a first-team All-Ivy League selection in 2000, and no Princeton offensive lineman has earned that honor since then.
There are several members of the 2013 Princeton line who would love to end that streak this season.
Reigning second-team All-Ivy tackle Spenser Huston, along with returning senior starters Joe Goss and Max Coale, will bring a wealth of experience to the line. They join senior Taylor Pearson, juniors Jack Woodall, Joe Tull and Ryan Peloquin, and sophomore Britt Colcolough among the handful of returners who gained valuable experience last season.
Under the guidance of fourth-year offensive line coach Eddy Morrissey, Princeton has built on the depth in its offensive line each season. Playing their brand of fast and physical offense, the Tigers understand that they need both quantity and quality on the line, and they are hopeful that this season will be the best under head coach Bob Surace.
