2012: CWPA Scholar-Athlete and ACWPC All-Academic Team ... appeared in 25 games, starting one ... tallied six goals, six steals, four assists and four blocks ... had an assist versus Cal Lutheran (9/7) ... tallied an assist and a steal versus MIT (9/8) ... scored a goal and drew an ejection versus Bucknell (9/16) ... made first start and notched three goals, two field bocks, an assist and a steal versus Penn State Behrend (11/3).

2011: Appeared in 25 games during his sophomore season and contributed eight goals, four assists and 13 steals. Galainena scored two goals in a win at George Washington and added goals in wins over Harvard, MIT, Iona and Washington & Jefferson. He also scored in a loss at ninth-ranked UC Davis. Galainena had two assists in a win over Fordham and added two steals in two wins over Iona and a loss at USC. ACWPC All-Academic Oustanding selection.

2010: Appeared in the first 15 games of the season for Princeton before illness kept him out of the lineup over the second half of the year. A CWPA Scholar-Athlete Team member, Galainena scored two goals, finding the back of the net in a win over Navy and a loss at UCLA. Galainena had two steals in a loss to Cal Baptist and added another in a win over Bucknell at ECACs.

Galainena served as the team captain of the Latin School of Chicago water polo team during his junior and senior years, being named the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player as a junior and senior and a first-team All-Sectional in each of the past two years. A four-year varsity starter, Galainena is on the "A" Midwest zone team. He also served as captain and was the Most Valuable Player on his high school swimming team as a junior and senior, qualifying for states as a senior and holding his school record in the 200 freestyle relay. Galainena also has played for the Chicago Apostles, Windy City, and Lyons Township Club teams.
