The first round is in the books for the Princeton men's golf team at the Temple Invitational, and the Tigers are tied for 10th in the 17-team field at Philmont Country Club outside Philadelphia.
Greg Jarmas is the top Tiger through 18 holes, shooting a 3-over 73 Saturday. Hartford's Evan Russell is atop the leaderboard halfway through the two-round tournament after his first-round 62 to stand at 8-under, five shots ahead of Richmond's Jack Wilkes.
Russell's round paced the Hawks to a four-shot lead over Harvard and Temple, while Princeton is 19 shots off the pace. Six Ivy League teams are in the field, and the Tigers are in front of three of them. Penn is five shots back of Harvard and nine off the lead, while Princeton is 10 shots behind Penn.
