For the first time during the young 2013 season Princeton shutout an opponent, opening the CWPA/MAAC Crossover with a 12-0 win over Siena. The 12th-ranked women's water polo team followed that up with a 14-11 victory versus Iona to sweep day one action at the tournament Saturday.

Princeton scored four goals in the first and second quarters to establish the immediate advantage, while limiting the Saints to only four first half shots on frame.

Siena only had eight shots on goal in the game.

The Tigers employed three different goalies to swat away Saint shots, with Ashleigh Johnson manning the first half and Katie Rigler and Brittany Zwirner taking over duties in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. The trio combined for eight saves.

Molly McBee and Jessie Holechek each netted three goals to lead the Tigers, while Zwirner had a team-high four steals and Kelly Gross made a team-best three assists.

Princeton followed up their clean sheet win by overcoming a second half rally by Iona to win 14-11.

The Tigers opened with a 5-2 first quarter run and extended their lead to 8-3 by halftime.

The early momentum surge was not enough to sway away the Gaels for good and Iona responded with a five-goal third quarter.

Managing to hold on to the lead, 11-8, Princeton and Iona each found the back of the net three times apiece in the fourth quarter.

Rigler scored a team-high five goals, Taylor Dunstan dished four of the Tigers' eight assists and Johnson made 10 saves in the cage.

Princeton improves to 9-2, 1-0 Southern with the victories and will conclude the weekend with Wagner and Villanova on Sunday.
