With a key EIVA weekend looming, the Princeton men's volleyball team made sure to build on its winning ways Saturday night at NYU. The Tigers moved to 4-2 on the season and extended their win streak to three with a 3-1 victory over the Violets.
Though NYU is not an EIVA opponent any longer, the win should help build momentum heading into next weekend's road trip at Saint Francis (Friday, 7) and Penn State (Saturday, 7).
Leading hitter Pat Schwagler had a team-high 13 kills for Princeton, but head coach Sam Shweisky was able to use most of his roster in this nonleague matchup. Sophomore Cody Kessel had 12 kills and six digs for the Tigers, while freshman Devin Stearns added seven kills.
Senior Michael Dye showed off his typical efficient hitting, recording a .571 attack percentage with five kills on only seven swings. However, classmate Daniel Tien made his presence felt with three of Princeton's four aces in the match.
