Fencers Sweep Ranked Foes at Temple Duals

Robert Daniluk had three of the four match-clinching bouts for the Princeton men Saturday.

The Princeton fencing teams turned in an impressive sweep Saturday in Philadelphia, going a combined 8-0 at the Temple Duals with seven wins coming against ranked opponents.

Princeton's men, ranked No. 4 in the country, beat No. 8 Duke 21-6, No. 2 Penn State 14-13, No. 7 Penn 16-11 and No. 3 St. John's 15-9. The third-ranked women had wins over receiving-votes Duke 16-11, No. 2 Penn State 15-12, No. 5 St. John's 15-12 and No. 7 Temple 18-9.

Princeton's women finish the dual-meet portion of the season at 23-2, finishing with the third-most wins in program history behind the 24 matches won last year and the 27 won two years ago. Princeton's men head into the NCAA portion of the schedule at 19-3, the second-most wins in program history behind the 21 matches won two years ago.

Princeton will visit the NYU-hosted National Squad Championships Sunday before competing in the NCAA regional March 10.
