Before taking a break from competition until the stakes raise in February, the Princeton fencing teams will head for a day of dual meets at Sacred Heart in Connecticut Sunday.
The Tigers will face Sacred Heart at 10 a.m., NYU at 11 a.m., Vassar at 1:30 p.m. and Penn State at 2:30 p.m.
The lid-lifter for the Tigers came two weekends ago, when Princeton competed at back-to-back dual-meet events, first at Columbia and then at Penn. Between the two days, the men's program won three of four duals, while the women went 4-0. Columbia, NJIT, Stevens, Penn and Ohio State represented the competition at those two duals, bringing a fresh set of foes for the Tigers at the Sacred Heart meet.
Princeton's women bring a 22-match win streak in dual meets into the Sacred Heart event, with the team's last loss coming Feb. 2, 2013 to Ohio State.
Following the meet, the Tigers will be away from competition until February, when Princeton will open the month with its annual visit to Northwestern for two days of duals, with the Ivy meet quick to follow Feb. 8-9.
