Princeton's fencing teams will head to Lafayette Saturday for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional looking to qualify as many fencers as they can for the NCAA Championship later this month.

Fencing will get underway at 8 a.m. Saturday. The top seven finishers in each weapon at the NCAA Regional will qualify, as will two at-large qualifiers from across the nation's four regions.

Vying for the bids on the women's side will be Eve Levin, Ambika Singh and Sharon Gao in foil, Katharine Holmes, Susannah Scanlan, Anna Van Brummen, Isabel Ford and Hannah Safford in epee, and Gracie Stone, Joanna Cichomski, Diamond Wheeler and Eliza Stone in saber. On the men's side, Princeton will send Michael Dudey, Rodney Chen, Robert Daniluk and Robert Malcolm in foil, Edward Kelley, Luke Politi, Jonathan Yergler, Jack Hudson and Jamie O'Donnell in epee, and Robert Stone, Philip Dershwitz and Stephen Moch in saber.

Princeton has earned the maximum 12 NCAA Championship bids in each of the last three years. Standing at the NCAA finals are determined by winning bouts in pool competitions, and schools can qualify up to two fencers in each of the three weapons on the men's and women's sides, accounting for the maximum 12. At last year's NCAA finals, Princeton came in second to host Ohio State. This year's finals will be held in San Antonio, Texas, from March 21-24.
