Men's Cross County Second at Notre Dame Invite

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (9/28/12) - The Princeton men's cross country team was the runner-up at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Sept. 28, posting a team score of 139.

No. 20 Tulsa won the race with 104 points. After Princeton was No. 24 Notre Dame in third with 143 points, No. 10 Florida State in fourth with 152 and No. 25 Eastern Kentucky in fifth with 167. Finishing behind Princeton was No. 21 New Mexico, No. 14 Texas A&M, No. 29 Washington State, No. 11 NC State and No. 26 Michigan.

Junior Alejandro Arroyo Yamin paced the Tigers for the second straight meet running 23:57 to finish 10th overall. Junior captain Chris Bendtsen ran 24:06 to place 17th. Senior Michael Franklin clocked in at 24:19 for 28th, followed by junior Jonathan Vitez at 24:22 and sophomore Matt McDonald at 24:31. sophomore Eddie Owens, junior Tyler Udland, freshmen Luke Brahm and Sam Berger also competed.

At the Paul Short Run on the Lehigh campus, senior Max Kaulbach led the Tigers with a time of 25:56. Four freshmen competed in the race as well. Rookies Michael Sublette and David Pugliese clocked in at 26:24 and 26:31, respectively. Freshman Brian Poirier and Jamie Fehrenstrom ran under 28, at 27:01 and 27:45, respectively.
