MADISON Wisc. (10/14/11) - Senior Donn Cabral finished fourth overall to lead the Princeton men's cross country team to a fourth place showing at the Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, Oct. 14.
Cabral clocked in at 23:31 to finish fourth, the best time of any runner from the top five teams. He stayed in front throughout the race with an 8:55 time at the 3k mark and 14:51 at the 5k. Fellow senior Brian Leung was 29th at 24:17. Senior Peter Maag and sophomore Chris Bendtsen were steps apart at 24:35 and 24:37. Sophomore Tyler Udland was the final scorer crossing the tape at 24:38.
A total of 21 of the 39 teams competing are nationally ranked. The home school Wisconsin (2) won the race, followed by BYU (6) in second and Stanford (4) in third. The Tigers posted an average team time of 24:20 as the fourth-place team. Princeton finished ahead of Indiana (7) by 44 points as the Hoosiers were fifth. The Tigers also out kicked Northern Arizona (13), NC State (9) and Oregon (10). In an Ivy League comparison, the Tigers finished 248 points ahead of Columbia.
The rest of the squad will run in the Princeton Invitational, tomorrow, Oct. 15 at West Windsor Fields.Princeton Finishers
