Men's Cross Country a Program-Best 11th at NCAAs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (11/17/12) - The Princeton men's cross country team finished 11th, a program best, at the 2012 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday, Nov. 17.

The junior trio of Chris Bendtsen, Alejandro Arroyo Yamin and Tyler Udland paced the Tigers as all three finished in the top 100. Bendtsen clocked in at 30:07.6 to finish 43rd overall, Arroyo Yamin was 58th overall at 30:24.4 and Udland ran a 30:33.5 for 79th place. Senior Michael Franklin was the fourth Tiger across the line at 31:00.5 to finish 134th and sophomore Matt McDonald was 151st at 31:06.7. Sophomore Eddie Owens and junior Jonathan Vitez rounded out the Princeton seven.

Oklahoma State won the national championship with a score of 72. Wisconsin was a distant second with 135 points and Colorado was third with 158.

Princeton captured 358 points in its 13th appearance at the NCAAs. This is the Tigers' best finish in program history, bettering the 12th-place finish from 2010 that included Olympian Donn Cabral.
